Lanyards and Uniforms

Parents,

We had a great meeting last night!  Thank you to all the parents who stepped up to offer assistance in leading our boys.  We are still 2-3 men light in the Woodlands Trail Program, so if you are able to help, please contact Brad Hatchett (troopmaster@traillife1031.org).

Lanyards

You may have noticed that your boys came home last night with Trail Life lanyards.  These lanyards contain their name tag, and achievement tracking cards.  These lanyards are an important part of the program, and should be considered part of the uniform.  Each time we meet, your son needs to bring his lanyard.  It is their responsibility (with your help of course) to bring them to the meeting.  You may think this is a big responsibility to entrust to the boys, particularly the younger Trailmen.  The Trail Life program is designed as a leadership and character development program.  Our aim is to work along side you, as parents, to develop your young boys into responsible leaders.  A part of character and leadership development is teaching responsibility.  These lanyards are an easy way to begin instilling that sense of responsibility in the boys.

Don't panic if you or your son loses the lanyard!  We are separately accounting for advancement, so all is not lost if a lanyard disappears.  If a lanyard is lost, the cost to replace is approximately $10 ($5 for the lanyard, and $5 for the cards).

 Uniforms

For those wondering about uniforms...we are working on them.  This week we are making plans for a group order of formal troop uniforms.  We will let you know our plans as soon as they are finalized.

For those who need unit T-shirts, we can also do a large order to economize the shipping cost.  We will get you information about the T-shirt order as well.  Stay tuned!

As always, if you have questions, or need additional information, please contact Brad Hatchett (troopmaster@traillife1031.org).

Walk Worthy!
