About Troop MS-1031
Troop MS-1031 received its charter on August 6, 2014. Our troop is a ministry of Pear Orchard Presbyterian Church (our Charter Organization) in Ridgeland, Mississippi.
Our troop seeks to minister to boys and young men ages 5 - 17 by teaching them, in the context of outdoor adventure, about character and leadership from a Christian worldview. The values we seek to reinforce are based upon the truths outlined in the Bible, the holy and inerrant Word of God.
our Troop Number
Trail Life USA allows its troops to select their troop numbers upon receipt of their charters. Each troop's number is prefixed by its two letter state abbreviation (MS, in our case).
Our troop number, 1031, was selected from scripture. It is a reference to a passage from the Apostle Paul's first letter to the church at Corinth.
As we experience adventure together, and as we work to mold the next generation of boys into men, we aim to do it all to the glory of our Lord and Savior!
American heritage girls
Trail Life USA has a sister organization for girls - American Heritage Girls (AHG). Troop MS-1031 has a sister AHG troop which is also chartered by Pear Orchard Presbyterian Church. AHG Troop MS-1423 typically meets at the same time and location as our Trail Life troop to accommodate families that have both boys and girls who wish to participate in Christian-focused character and leadership development. If you would like more information about AHG Troop MS-1423, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and someone will be happy to put you in contact with the AHG troop leadership.
About Our Charter Organization
Pear Orchard Presbyterian Church in Ridgeland, Mississippi was founded in 1977 and has been ministering to the Jackson, Ridgeland and Madison communities for more than 35 years. POPC is a member of the Presbyterian Church in America. In 2002, POPC expanded its ministry by founding Christ Covenant School, a Christian school whose mission is to partner with Christian parents in teaching, training and equipping their children academically and spiritually so that they would be able to love the Lord, to think biblically, and to glorify God in every area of life.
POPC holds two morning worship services each Sunday, as well as Sunday school and an evening worship service. Further, the church has regular meetings on Wednesday nights, as well as other program and ministry opportunities throughout the week.
If you are not involved in a church, we encourage you to visit POPC. Information about the church's ministries, worship services and other programming can be found on the POPC website located here.
