Trail Life USA is a Christ-centered outdoor adventure, leadership, and character development ministry. Living the Trail Life is a journey for boys and young men established on timeless values derived from the Bible. Set in the context of outdoor adventure and working in patrols within Troops, each young Trailman is challenged to build character and a lifetime of practical leadership skills.

Who We Are
Our troop seeks to minister to boys and young men ages 5 - 17 by teaching them, in the context of outdoor adventure, about character and leadership from a Christian worldview. The values we seek to reinforce are based upon the truths outlined in the Bible, the holy and inerrant Word of God.

What is Trail Life?
Trail Life USA is a Christ-centered outdoor adventure leadership and character development program for boys and young men. The program reinforces character and leadership through outdoor adventure-oriented experiences. Boys will love the fun and adventure, and parents will love the commitment to a Christian worldview and moral consistency.
Troop MS-1031 is chartered by Pear Orchard Presbyterian Church. All Trail Life USA troops are considered ministries of their charter organization; therefore, Troop MS-1031 is a ministry of Pear Orchard Presbyterian Church.
Who can join?
The program is open to boys ages 5-17 (kindergarten through 12th grade). Program eligibility is determined based on age and grade level measured as of October 31 of each year.
How is the program structured?
Boys are divided into three units (Woodlands Trail, Navigators, and Adventurers) based on age and grade, with the Woodlands Trail unit being further divided into three patrols. Age and grade divisions (measured on October 31) are as follows:
Woodlands Trail Unit
Fox Patrol - Ages 5-6; K5-1st Grade
Hawk Patrol - Ages 7-8; 2nd-3rd Grades
Mt. Lion Patrol - Ages 9-10; 4th-5th Grades
Navigators Unit
Ages 11-13; 6th-8th Grades
Adventurers Unit
Ages 14-17; 9th-12th Grades
When and where does the troop meet?
We meet from 6:30-7:30 on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month during the school year.
Meetings are held at Pear Orchard Presbyterian Church, 750 S. Pear Orchard Rd., Ridgeland, MS 39157.
Are there activities other than regular troop meetings?
Yes. The troop holds several extra-meeting activities, including day trips, and overnight campouts. The troop holds 2-3 troop-wide campouts annually. Some units plan additional activities throughout the year, including summer excursions even though the troop doesn’t regularly meet during the summer months.
How much does the program cost?
Annual National Registration Fee: $40 (approx.)
Annual Local Troop Dues: $65
Uniform Cost: $100 (approx.)
Handbook: $17 (one-time)
Troop Standard: $45 (one-time)
Can I visit before registering my son(s)?
Yes! We encourage interested families to come to a troop meeting before joining. This will give you an opportunity to meet our leaders and get a better understanding of what our program is all about.
