ABOUT DUES AND program fees

The troop collects up to three different payments for dues or program fees, depending on the age and unit of the Trailman. These are as follows:

  1. Troop Dues (All Trailmen):

    Local troop dues are $68 per Trailman. These dues cover an annual assessment of $20 per Trailman that the local troop must pay to the national office, as well as the cost of various awards and achievements the boys may earn during the year.

  2. Troop Standard (Navigators & Adventurers):

    The troop standard is an ornamental walking stick that is used by the Trailmen in the Navigator and Adventurer units to display their achievements. This is a one time purchase made when your Trailman joins one of these units. The cost of the troop standard is $48.

  3. Trailman’s Handbook (Navigators & Adventurers):

    The Trailman’s handbook is for Trailmen in the Navigator and Adventurer units. This handbook contains a wealth of information about the program and the advancement requirements. It is also used to keep track of the trail badge and advancement work the boys complete as the program progresses. All Trailmen are required to have a handbook. The cost of the handbook is $18.

How to Pay

Payments are collected through our online platform, Cheddar Up. We do not take cash or checks for these items.

  2. There are three items you may add to your cart:

    • Dues (everyone should pay)

    • Troop Standard (only Navigators & Adventurers who haven’t purchased already)

    • Handbook (only Navigators & Adventurers who haven’t purchased already)

  3. You must complete a separate transaction for each Trailman.

  4. Add appropriate items to your cart and complete information form.

  5. If you don’t already have a CheddarUp account, you will be given the opportunity to create an account so that your payment information will be saved. Creating an account will keep you from having to re-enter your payment information each time you come back to pay a fee (i.e., for additional Trailmen, camp outs, etc.). You will always have control of what and when you pay. We do not have the ability to automatically charge fees or assessments to your credit card.
